REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH:

Involves the reproductive processes, functions and systems at all stages of life. It allows men and women to choose when and how to reproduce and have a healthy andsatisfactory sex life

There are six aspects of reproductive health keys to be addressed through prevention: HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), low birth weight, teenage pregnancy and sexualviolence.

HIV/AIDS :
HIV: prevents the body’s immune system from working properly.


AIDS:
If someone with HIV develops certain opportunistic infections, they are diagnosed ashaving AIDS


Sexually transmitted infections:

Bacterial: Chancroid, chlamydia, granuloma inguinale, gonorrhea, syphilis.

Viral: Herpes simplex, papilloma, molluscumcontagiosum.
Fungal: Tinea cruris, candidiasis
Protozoal: Trichomoniasis
Parasites: Crab louse, scabies

Teen age pregnancy: Teenagepregnancy is defined as a teenaged or underage girl (usually within the ages of 13–19) becoming pregnant.

In some societies, early marriage and traditional gender roles are important factors in the rate of teenage pregnancy. For example, in some sub-Saharan African countries,early pregnancy is often seen as a blessing because it is proof of the young woman's fertility.In the Indian subcontinent, early marriage and pregnancy is more common in traditional rural communitiescompared to the rate in cities.

The lack of education on safe sex, whether it’s from parents, schools, or otherwise, is a cause of teenage pregnancy. Many teenagers are not taught about methods ofbirth control and how to deal with peers who pressure them into having sex before they are read.
