La Cervecera the Puerto Rico, is the islands largest brewing company. Withalmost a century of experience, it started off as a small brewery where only local beers were confectioned. Now a day the company has been recognized several times worldwide for creating and selling the World’s Best Light Beer. In recent years it has refocused its marketing plan and has launched several new products. Interesting is to say it doesn’t only make and sell alcoholic beverages but LaCervecera de Puerto Rico is the market leader in the non – alcoholic beverage industry. Some of these products are: Malta India and Malta India Light. These to brands are front- runners in their markets and are exported to the United States. Beer wise some of its most recognized brands are the Medalla Light and the Magna. We believe that the company should emphasize in promoting safe drinking andenvironmentally safe ways of recycling. This last one we think should be approached by educating and making sure people are aware of the implications both of these matters can bring.
Some of the social responsibilities of the company are to serve the communities in Puerto Rico by looking out for their well-being. They manage this strategy by sponsoring yearlong initiatives that can help create astable, safe and conscious social environment in the Island. In recent years the company has joined the eco-friendly movement that seems to be of great social relevance worldwide. The Cervecera is known for organizing and participating in many of the activities held by the Nature Conservancy Department and The Puerto Rico Conservation Trust. Which helps educate citizens of the repercussions thatlittering and waste can have on our world. With this commitment the company and in order to reduce environment impact their wastes may have, 97% of their raw materials are either reused or recycled. In order to reduce other wastes produced, such as water energy, CO2 and air contaminants they have slowly but effectively implemented natural forms and ways of doing so.
Medalla Light, is the Cervecera dePuerto Rico main brand. Until last year it was the only beer brand that had a marketing campaign in television, newspapers, radio, and social media. They dedicated 2011 to portray a somewhat educational message to show their true commitment. The company also promotes artistic development in the Island supporting in numerous activities the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, Museo de Arte de Ponce, Operade Puerto Rico and other cultural organizations.
The purposes behind the development of the nonviolent genre are primarily reactionary in nature. Corporations around the world are struggling with a new role, which is to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of the next generations to meet their own needs. Organizations are being called upon to takeresponsibility for the ways their operations impact societies and the natural environment. They are also being asked to apply sustainability principles to the ways in which they conduct their business. A firm must now focus its attention on both increasing its bottom line and being a good corporate citizen. The quality of relationships that a company has with its employees and other key stakeholders—such ascustomers, investors, suppliers, public and governmental officials, activists, and communities—is crucial to its success, as is its ability to respond to competitive conditions and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
