THE LEGACY OF LONDON 2012
The 2012 London Olympics was a great opportunity to show people from all over the world to the modern Britain. Now it isthought that the UK is an open, dynamic, connected and creative nation. So after all of this, what is Britain? A country that can still put on a show that has many identities, that is culturally rich,that has a battered landscape; the global reach of the United Kingdom has been strengthened substantially with the London Olympics as the image offered has been "very positive." They have been veryprominent UK Olympic achievements were obtained 29 gold medals, 17 silver and 19 bronze, and the role played by women, being the first time I have participated in all sports, including boxing.
Theword 'legacy' arises frequently in Olympic Games research, but what is meant by it? The Department of Culture, Media and Sport has expressed what the legacy of the London Olympics of 2012 was: to makeGreat Britain a great sporting nation, to inspire, to show off London's multicultural heritage, to regenerate parts of the East of London and to make the Olympic Park a sustainable space. Constructionin preparation for the Games involved considerable redevelopment, particularly themed towards sustainability. The main focus was a new 200-hectare (490-acre)Olympic Park, constructed on a formerindustrial site at Stratford, East London. The Games also made use of venues which were already in place before the bid.
The Games received widespread acclaim for their organization, with thevolunteers, the British military, and public enthusiasm praised particularly highly. The opening ceremony, directed by Danny Boyle, also received near-universal acclaim. During the Games, MichaelPhelps became the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, winning his 22nd medal.
