Madagascar is the story of four very spoiled animals living in New York zoo who choose to remain deaf than hearing the call of the jungle.
Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller) is the king ofthe urban jungle, the main attraction at the zoo in New York.
He and his best friends Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) and Gloria the Hippo (Jada PinkettSmith).
they have lived their entire lives in blissful captivity, eating to satiety whatever they felt like and overlooking the park. But Marty can not resist the curiosity of wonderingwhat if he had grown up in the jungle, would he be king there to? And he decides he has to go there and find out, so with the help of some prodigious penguins, he escapes to explore theunknown world “the jungle”. Alex, Melman and Gloria take the shock of their life’s the next morning when they discover that Alex was gone so they decide to leave the zoo too and go lookfor their friend Alex and return before anyone is aware of his disappearance. As they start their search they start causing a lot of attention as they were walking in the street likeregular people.. Alex, Melman and Gloria end up finding Marty in Grand Central Station, but before boarding the train that will take them home, the authorities showed up, put them to sleep,capture them, put them in boxes and shipped to Africa with the intention of realizing them from the pressures of life in New York. The penguins that were also in the ship managed to get outof their boxes, got rid of the crew and get in charge of the ship.
