When he was young, In a stormy, dark yellow day, usually went to an old bar. There he met Cora. Cora and Bill had plans to get married and buy a farm.But, Cora to get his money, was with Frankie Corbett a time. Bill became jelaois of the other man, and after approaching him to discuss the issue, he murder Corbett.
After 18 years on prison, returnto the town and was looking for Cora. When he goes to see Cora, is amazed because when a woman opens the door, was like Cora. But she wasn’t Cora, was is young daughter. The young woman and Billimmediately feel good with each other’s company and go for a drink.

When he was a kid, and al his life, he loved animals. But one cat, was is favorite in all his life. He get married, and many years after his marriage, becamealcoholist and a very irritable person. He became to hate his wife and his animals. But no Pluto, his black cat.
A day, when he arrived to his house, Pluto run of his owner. He became angry andgrab the cat by his neck. Pluto bite his hand and he became furious. He take his eye with a knife.
Days after, he kill Pluto hanged in a tree. The same night, his house was buring.
So, the dayspassed and the narrator was sad, because he don’t have his loved cat. He go to a bar, and there, he found a cat like Pluto, with a small white spot in his neck. This cat reminded Pluto and took him to hishome. But with the time, he became to hate this cat. The white spot started to elongate in his neck, and turned round… in the form of a gallows.
