“THE NOTEBOOK”
The notebook, is a romantic movie, that tells the love story of a Young couple who fall in love in 1940’s summer. The story starts when an elderly man begins to read a romantic lovestory from his notebook to an elderly woman, who is a patient in the nursing home.
Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) is a rich, Young and beautiful lady who’s on vacations with her parents at SeabrookIsland, South Carolina. Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) is a local young boy, poor, who knows Allie at a carnival and he immediately falls in love of her. They start dating and Allie’s mother, Sara,realizes of their romance and she tells to her daughter that he is not the right guy for her and that she must break up with him. Allie’s parents announce that the family is returning home to Charleston,next morning. When Noah realizes that Allie is returning home, he goes looking for her, but she’s already gone.
After that, Noah writes letters to Allie, each day for one year, but she never gotthem, because her mother intercepts them all and keeps them hidden. Noah and Allie have no choice but move on with their lives. After a time, Allie knows a handsome officer, who is charming and rich.They eventually become engaged but by that time, Noah reappears in Allie’s life, when he buy the abandoned house that he wants to buy for Allie. After 7 years, Allie and Noah seen again, and she getconfused about her feelings.
Meanwhile, in the present, it is made clear that the elderly woman is Allie, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and she can’t remember anything about her past life.So the man who is reading the story for her is in fact his husband, Noah but she can’t recognize him.
The elderly Noah continue reading the story of how they first met, when suddenly the elderly Allieremembers her past, but only for a few minutes then she loses her memories again.
This romantic story tells how a strong enough love, can make possible, the impossible just by itself.
