Charity involves giving up something you hold dear or priceless to someone who even thoughdoes not deserve it to without expecting that something to be returned to you at a later date. This involves the free will to decide whether or not to give this love or not. Most people are eithernot capable or have to much evil inside of them to give up for charity. Most Saints have given charity to those that need it and that is why they are saints.
Now looking at all the loves, the mostpowerful one is charity since this is the only love touched by God. Then comes Eros the not understood love then freindship which may be as stong as Eros but not as mysterious. Then comes affection andlastly sub human loves. It was a pleasure of learning the different loves and C.S Lewis is a great teacher.
In this chapter, C.S Lewis talks about charity which is a divine love that iscaracterized by being a love used by God. It is the holiest of loves and when given nothing is expected to be given in return. Unlike Eros, charity is given when someone needs it the most and it is only presentin human beings.
