Rhode Island is the smallest state in the union; it’s about 40miles long and 30 miles wide.
Rhode Island is bordered by Massachusetts on the north and on the east. On the south, is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the west, is bordered by Connecticut.
RhodeIsland covers 1,545 square miles, is the smallest of the 50 states.
Rhode Island has 1,045 square miles of land areas, and 500 square miles are covered by water.
The highest point is Jerimoth Hill,in Foster, at a 812 feet above sea level.
The lowest point is sea level where Rhode Island meets the Atlantic Ocean.
The Mean Elevation is 200 feet above sea level.
The Major River is SakonnetRiver, and the Major Lakes is Scituate Reservoir.
Climate

Rhode Island has a cold winter with hot, rainy summers and chilly winters. The highest temperature recorded in Rhode Island was 104 °F (40°C), recorded on August 2, 1975 in Providence. The lowest recorded temperature in Rhode Island was -23 °F (-30.5 °C), on January 11, 1942 in Kingston.
Monthly average temperatures range from a high of 83°F (28 °C) to a low of 20 °F (-7 °C).

The Rhode Island State Flower is the Common Blue Violet (Viola sororia), its habitat in woods and limy areas, its heights is the 4 – 6 inches, itssize is about ¾ inches is purple and its flowering time is April to May.

The variety of apple known as the Rhode Island greening is hereby designated as the official state fruit for the state, butbecause Rhode Island is very small state their must import the fruits and vegetables from others states.
