The Liquid Mountaineering viral campaign was very successful.In fact there was one episode of the popular Discovery Channel show “Mythbusters” dedicated to it. In order to continue building on the popularity of the campaign I recommend that Hi-Tec set up aLiquid Mountaineering competition online. We all know the video was fake, and that there was a platform under the feet of the runners on the video. However, the concept of walking on water is a veryappealing one, and people will like the challenge of attempting this. The contest can be similar to Red Bull’s Flug Competition where everyday people set up homemade gliders and attempt to fly them of a30-foot cliff. That competition plays on Red Bulls claims of “giving you wings”. While the competition is focused on the team and the gliders the Red Bull name and image is constantly on display and thecompetition even airs on ESPN. I recommend that Hi-Tec set up a competition of people attempting to make devices that makes them “walk on water”. The competition should be on the Hi-Tec website, andwhile people will join for the challenge there will be the added benefit of having high traffic to the website both from competitors and spectators. People around the world love competition. Forinstance, this past summer’s “planking” phenomena was based on who can do the most daring plank. Basic competition guidelines can include: * A team of 3-4 that sets up a device that can make a human walkon water * The team must make the device. Not manufactured or store bought * As in the video they can use the aid of other machines like Jet-skies * The team films their attempt, signs up, andpost their video on the Hi-Tec site * Other people from around the world can vote on the best attempt * The winners can get a prize from Hi-Tec such as a gift card or merchandiseThis would...
