We all have heroes in our lives. A hero is someone that has given his or her life to something bigger than one’s self. Normally, they have found or done something beyond the normal rangeof achievements. There are two types of heroes: the spiritual and the physical. The spiritual hero has a supernormal experience, and then comes back with a message. The physical hero is when the heroperforms a courageous at in which he saves lives, for example Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks is a hero because she possesses the hero qualities of courage, wisdom and dedication.
Rosa Parks was born onFebruary 4, 1913, in Tuskegee. She is the daughter of James McCauley, a carpenter, and Leona Edwards, a teacher. When her parents separated, she and her brother, Sylvester, moved to her grandparent’shouse in Pine Level, Alabama, were she was raised. Her hero deed started one evening in December 1955 when she was sitting in the front seat of a bus in segregated. When more white people came to thebus, she was supposed to give up her seat, but she did not moved. The driver told her to move, and she did not, so she got arrested. From that day on, she started fighting to change the laws for theblack people.
The most important quality that makes Rosa Parks a hero is courage. One example that shows courage is what happened the day she began fighting against injustice in society. She did notgave up her seat to a white man, and she got arrested. Another example is that once, while she was walking down the street, a boy named Frank said something to Rosa and threatened to hit her. She turnedaround, picked up a brick and dared to hit him. (p.22) This was an unacceptable conduct for a black girl and she could have been attacked or maybe she had to go to jail. An another incident RosaParks tells, “Anyways, this time we were walking, a white boy was coming along on roller skates, and for some reason he chose me to try and push me off the side walk. I turned around and pushed him”...
