How did Carlos Salinas de Gortari got to power and what did he do with it once he got it?

I’m going to talk about Carlos Salinas de Gortari. How he transformedinto a powerful leader and what did he do with that power.
First title he got was a license in economics in 1970 by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. His thesis was: Agriculture,industrialization and employment: the Mexican case. He then got a scholarship at Harvard. There he acquired masters in public administration. He works as head of the Department of Economic Studies of theGeneral Direction of Financial Affairs and International Affairs of Finance and Public Credit. The he gets a second masters on politics economy. Then he comes back to Mexico and he works as general directorof the institute of Politics, Economics and Social Studies of PRI. He also gets a doctorate in politics economy and government by Harvard.
He then gets appointed by the at the time President ofMexico Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado as head of the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
This is where his story starts to get cloudy. He runs for president in 1988. 6 of July of that year on the day of thepresidential elections: at the night just before concluding the voting process. Manuel Bartlett (President of the Federal Election Commission) announces “the fall of the system”, at the same time thepresident of PRI, Jorge de la Vega Dominguez, announces the “solid, legal and undeniable” triumph of Salinas de Gortari.
At his 40 years old he takes on the Presidency of the Republic. He is theyoungest president since Lazaro Cardenas. And his first big move was the FTA (Free Trade Agreement). There was meeting between the presidents Carlos Salinas de Gortari and George Bush to discuss a sensibletopic: pretroleum. The aftermath of this agreement was that PEMEX’s projects of exploration and drilling would include the participation, “for the first time in a decade”, of foreign companies....
