CULTIVO DELA SANDIA EN NAYARIT

Introducción
En México se cultivan de 30 a 35 mil hectáreas de sandia con rendimiento medio de 16
ton/Ha. Es importante social y económicamente por la mano de obra que requiere y la generación de divisas por ser un producto de exportación.
Los principales estados productores son: Chiapas, Sinaloa, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Nayarit, Tamaulipas y Veracruz entre otros.
Elcultivo de la sandía en el estado también es importante, se siembran cerca de 3 mil hectáreas de las cuales el 54 % corresponden al ciclo de Otoño-Invierno (humedad residual y/o riego) y 46 % en el ciclo de Primavera –Verano (de temporal) con rendimientos medios para cada condición de 13 y 9 ton/ha, respectivamente.
