Nordson ProMeter 2K RS-4 IO Timing Guidelines

Typical timing sequence


Pre-dispense

1. Check for Nordson “Dispenser Ready” to be ON.
2. Turn OFF “Clear To Purge”before leaving purge station.
3. Turn ON “Robot In Process”.
4. Wait 50 mS.
5. Turn ON desired “Part ID” bits.
6. Wait 50 mS.
7. Pulse “Style Strobe” ON for at least 50 mS duration.8. Wait for Nordson’s “Meter Prepressurized” signal to be ON.
9. Wait 50 mS after receiving “Meter Prepressurized” from Nordson.


Dispense

10. Set robot analog output for desireddispense rate (can be set earlier if desired).
11. Set and reset “Gun On” as required for the path.


Intermediate Refills

12. Wait at least 50 mS after the part segment’s last “Gun On” signalis turned OFF.
13. Pulse “Dispense Complete” ON for at least 50 mS duration.
14. Wait at least 250 mS before checking for Nordson “Volume OK”.
15. Wait for Nordson “Volume OK” to be ON beforecontinuing.
16. Wait for Nordson “Dispenser Ready” to be ON indicating refill is complete.
17. Turn OFF “Robot In Process”. See details below.
18. Wait 50 mS.
19. Jump to step 3 aboveand repeat until last bead segment is done.
20. When last bead segment is done jump to step 21.


Ending the part cycle

21. Return to purge station
22. Turn ON “Clear To Purge”.“Robot In Process” handling details

1. “Robot In Process” must remain high for at least ONE SECOND after the rising edge of “Dispense Complete”. By waiting for the meter to refill before resetting“Robot In Process” (step 17 above) this is accomplished without adding delays.
o The refill process is dependent on the material pressure and viscosity, as well as how empty the meter was when arefill was started. Therefore, waiting to cycle Robot in Process until after the meter is full, prevents the need to add delays greater than 50 ms to the overall cycle time. If the meter...
