1. Expressions with LIKE
There are several ways to use the word like. |
a) as a verb to talk about likes and dislikes:e.g.: I like musicals.I like to go hiking. |
b) as a verb with would to talk about and desires and preferences:e.g.: I’d like to take a trip abroad. (desire) Would you like tea or coffee? (preference) |
c) as anadverb with something to talk about approximate amounts:e.g.: It took her something like four hours to finish! |
d) as a preposition to talk about similarities:e.g.: Ann and Lea are very closefriends. They’re like sisters |
2. The Passive with various tenses
