RESUMEN
El presenteartículo parte de la necesidad de conocimiento que se tiene respecto al área de la Seguridad en Internet. En adelante se muestra una breve explicación de Internet y su evolución, una definición precisa de la seguridad informática y los mecanismos de seguridad actualmente implementados, además se dan a conocer las amenazas que existen en la red como: los virus (definición y forma de propagarse),técnica de phishing y los diversos tipos de ataques a los que los usuarios de esta gran red se encuentran expuestos diariamente. De igual forma se enseña el peligro que representan los ordenadores públicos y se brindan algunas recomendaciones que se deben seguir para el mantenimiento de los ordenadores y cómo mejorar el uso de los servicios que se prestan en la Web de acuerdo a su continuocrecimiento. En el mismo sentido se explican los principios de la seguridad informática de acuerdo a la confidencialidad, autenticación, el no repudio, el control de la integridad, y la disponibilidad de servicios, que se deben cumplir para garantizar una navegación más segura al momento de realizar cualquier operación desde revisar un correo electrónico hasta hacer sus pagos de tarjetas de crédito através de Internet.

ABSTRACT
This article comes from the need of knowledge that we have about Internet Security area. Hereafter will see a brief explanation of the Internet and its evolution, a precise definition of computer security and the security mechanisms currently implemented, also are disclosed the threats that exist in the network as the virus: (definitionand method of spread ), phishing techniques and various types of attacks that users of this large network are exposed daily. Similarly taught the dangers of public computers and provide some recommendations to follow for the maintenance of computers and how to improve the use of the services provided on the Web according to their growth. In the same way explains the principles of informationsecurity according to the Privacy, Authentication, non repudiation, Integrity Control, and the availability of services that must be met to ensure safe navigation when making any transaction from checking e-mail to make your credit card payments through the Internet.

INTRODUCCIÓN
A través de los años y con eldesarrollo continuo de la tecnología, el mundo ha podido comunicarse y realizar operaciones de distintos tipos sin necesidad de trasladarse a algún lugar en específico si no desde la comodidad de su hogar, trabajo o sitio de estudio, pero ¿cómo es esto posible? a través de la gran autopista de la información mejor conocida como Internet ó la Red de Redes.
