En medio del  co ntexto actual  en  donde las tecnología s de la informació n y  la  co municación  se han 
masificado   convirtiéndose    en  el ementos  casi  imp rescind ibles  para  el d esa rrollo  d e las  sociedad es y lo s sujetos, se  vuelve nece sario el análisis serio  y  consta nte d e la  aplicació n d e la s herramientas 
tecnológicas al ámb ito educa tivo, con  el fin  de  responder a  n ecesidades y  requ erimientos a ctuales . 
El  artíc ulo  pres enta  de  manera  sen cilla   y  concreta   la  definici ón  del  concepto  Web  2 .0   con  la 
fina lidad  de  des cribir  los  aportes  que  posibilitan  una  n ueva  visión  de  la  edu cació n  aco rde   con  las 
exigencias  de  la  sociedad  actual,  u tilizando  la  tecnología  como  una   nov edo sa   pero  nec esa ria 
herramienta en la  educación , donde el docen te med ie  a  los estudiantes en su proceso  formativo. 
Siguiendo  las  nuevas  co rrientes  se  hace   imperante  que  los  do cen tes   se   apropien  de  las herramientas  tecnológicas  para  pla nifica r  sus  me todolog ías  uti lizando  es te  valioso  soporte, 
aprov echándolas al máximo para fo rtalecer las habilidades  d e lo s estudia ntes y poten ciarlo s según 
la s nuevas tenden cias mundiales.

A bstract 
In  the  mid st  of  the  cu rrent  contex t  in   which  information  and  communication  tec hno logies   ha ve 
become  indisp ensab le  elemen ts  for  the  development  o f  our  societies   and  sub jec ts,  a  se rious  and 
con tinuous a nalysis  o f  th e  applica tion  of  the  technological  too ls  in  the  edu cationa l  environ ment in 
order to meet current needs  and requiremen t. The a rticle introduces in a concrete way th e W eb 2.0 definition w ith  the pu rposes of describing the 
con tributio ns  th at  enable  a  new   vision  of  educatio n  a ccord ing  wi th  the  demand s  o f  our  curren t 
society ,  utilizing  the  tech nology  as  a  novel ty,  b ut  at  th e  same  ti me  necessa ry   tool  in  the 
edu cation, where teach ers b ecome fa cilitators and a compon ent o f the students learning process. 
Following  the  new   trends,  it  is  imp erative  that  tea chers  appropriate  o f  th e  technological  tools  to 
plan  their  methodolog ies  u tilizing  the  valuable  a ss et,  taking  ad van tage  to  th e  max  in  o rder 
strengthen  students skills and aptitudes and to emp ower them acco rding to th e new  world trend s.

Tal  vez muchos  se  preg untan  sobre  esta  nueva  modalidad  de comunicación 
de  la  que  s e  ha hablado   tanto  en  los  último s  añ os.  Se  trata  de  la  web  2.0.  y, 
aunqu e  el  tema   par ece  complejo ,  lo  c ierto   es  que  los   ciber nautas  diar iamente 
están  h aciendo  uso  de  este  v alios o  recurso  y  s in  saberlo  lidian  e  in ter actúan  con 
sus componentes. 
Hoy  má s  que  nunc a  la  web  potencia  la  educación  en  todas  sus 
modalidades;  pero  s...
