Self Esteem could be a good thing or a bad thing.

In this report I will talk about Self-esteem, low self-esteem, the healthy self-esteem and his importance and self-acceptance. Self-esteem is verycommon these days on adults and children. We should we more aware of our self and the thing that we are felling.

Valencia (n.d. a) defines self-esteem as “the acceptance of, respect for,confidence and satisfaction that you have in yourself as a person. Self-esteem is based upon an internal image of ourselves that we carry around, consciously and subconsciously.” Valencia mentions in herarticle that are self-esteem begins base on our interaction with others and the environment. Especially the signals and messages we receive from our parents at first. Then, from things like ourperformance in school and sports and how likable our childhood peers and friends and perhaps our siblings make use feel.
Valencia (n.d. a) during these formative times, if we receive negative signals andmessages we may later on suffer from low self-esteem in adulthood. This is not good at all, because your self-esteem determine how you interact with the world. These interactions include:
* Yourpersonal dignity.
* How you treat yourself.
* How you judge those around you.
* How you tend to your own self-image and persona.
Valencia (n.d. a) defines low self-esteem as “a negative viewof oneself”. It is easily confused with criticism. But it isn't that; and since criticism is healthy, if a person with low self-esteem starts resisting being self-critical in confusion this can lead totremendous social interaction problems for them.
Valencia (n.d. b) wrote an article on the low self-esteem signs. She mentions some of the sings that could help you identify if you have lowself-esteem. This signs are:
1. Blaming others: stop complaining
2. Denial
3. Unable to express our feelings
4. Depending on others for self-acceptance
5. Lack personal boundaries...
