Palm Sunday
Holy Week begins with what
Roman
Catholics,
Presbyterians, and Methodists
call Palm Sunday of the Passion
of the Lord. In the Roman Rite,
before 1955 it was known
simply as Palm Sunday, and
the preceding Sunday as
Passion Sunday. From 1955 to
1971 it was called Second
Sunday inPassiontide or Palm
Sunday. Among Lutherans and
Anglicans, the day is known as
The Sunday of the Passion:
Palm Sunday.

Domingo de Ramos
La Semana Santa comienza con lo
que
los
católicos
romanos,
presbiterianos,
metodistas
y
llaman Domingo de Ramos de la
Pasión del Señor. En el rito
romano, antes de 1955 era
conocido simplemente como el
Domingo de Ramos y el Domingo
anterior como Domingo de Pasión.
De1955 a 1971 fue llamado
Segundo Domingo de Pasión o
Domingo de Ramos. Entre los
luteranos y anglicanos, el día se

Monday to Wednesday







The days between Palm Sunday and Holy
Thursday are known as Holy Monday, Holy
Tuesday, and Holy Wednesday. The Gospels of
these days recount events not all of which
occurred on the corresponding daysbetween
Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and his Last
Supper:
On Monday, the Gospel tells of the anointing
of Jesus at Bethany (John 12:1-11), an event
that occurred before the Palm Sunday event
described in John 12:12-19.
On Tuesday, the Gospel recalls the foretelling,
at the Last Supper, of Judas' betrayal and
Peter's denial of Jesus (John 13:21-38).
On Wednesday, the Gospel retells the story ofJudas arranging his betrayal of Jesus with the
high priests (Matthew 26:14-25). For this
reason, the day is sometimes called Spy

Lunes a Miércoles
Los días entre el Domingo de Ramos y el
Jueves Santo se conocen como Lunes Santo,
Martes Santo y Miércoles Santo. Los
evangelios de estos días son eventos de
recuento no todos son los que ocurrieron en
los días correspondientes entre la entrada de
Jesúsen Jerusalén y su última cena:
 El lunes, el Evangelio nos habla de la unción
de Jesús en Betania (Juan 12: 1-11), un evento
que ocurrió antes del evento el Domingo de
Ramos se describe en Juan 12: 12-19.
 El martes, el Evangelio recuerda la predicción,
en la Última Cena, de la traición de Judas y la
negación de Pedro de Jesús (Juan 13: 21-38).

Holy Thursday
In the Catholic Church, on this day the private
celebration of Mass is forbidden. Thus, apart
from the Chrism Mass for the blessing of the
Holy Oils that the diocesan bishop may celebrate
on the morning of Holy Thursday, but also on
some other day closeto Easter, the only Mass on
this day is the evening Mass of the Lord's
Supper, which inaugurates the period of three
days, known as the Easter Triduum, that includes
Good Friday (seen as beginning with the service
of the preceding evening), Holy Saturday and
Easter Sunday up to evening prayer on that day.

Jueves Santo
En la Iglesia Católica, la celebración de la misa
privada está prohibido. Porlo tanto, además de
la Misa Crismal para la bendición de los santos
óleos que el obispo diocesano celebra en la
mañana del Jueves Santo, también en algunos
otros días cercanos a la Pascua, la única misa
que se realiza es la Misa vespertina de la Cena

Good Friday
The evening liturgical celebration on Holy
Thursday begins the first of the three days
of the Easter Triduum, which continues in
an atmosphere of liturgical mourning
throughout the next day in spite of the
name "Good" given in English to this Friday.
