ABSTRAeT

RESUMEN

The test was carry out at the experimental field of the
"Facultad de CienciasAgrarias, "Universidad Nacional de
Asunción". The aim was to evaluate the agronomic
characteristics andcomponents yield and its of four
varieties in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) from different
growth habits and growing cycle. The used varieties were:
Dorado, Escoba, Mbarete and Inia. The used experimental design was Latin Square with four treatments and four
replications, each plot with 4 meters long and 3 meters in
width, totalizing 16 experimental units, each with 4 rows
separated by 0.80 m and0.10 m between plants. There
were evaluate: vegetative cycle, plant height, number of
branches per plant, number of pods per plant, weight of
1,000 seeds and yield. The results show that the variety
Inia presented the longer vegetative cycle and the variety
Dorado the shorter. The varieties Escoba, Mbarete and
Inia are tall, of giant kind with the largest number of
branches per plant, thefirst two with 10 branches and
with 9 branches the last. The variety Dorado is low, single
stem of standard type, with a greater number of pods per
plant and lower weight of 1,000 seeds. The variety Inia
presented the highest weight of 1,000 seeds with 4.9 g.
The varieties Inia and Dorado have high productivity, with
yields of 1,875 and 1,433 kg/ha respectively. The time of
sowing influencesthe yield of the varieties Escoba and
Mbarete, the first is sensitive to photoperiod.

El ensayo fue realizado en el campo experimental de la
Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias de la Universidad Nacional Asunción. El objetivo fue evaluar las características
agronómicas y los componentes de rendimiento de cuatro variedades de sésamo (Sesamum indicum L.) de diferentes hábitos de crecimiento y ciclode cultivo. Las variedades utilizadas fueron: Dorado, Escoba, Mbarete e
Inia. El diseño experimental utilizado fue Cuadrado Latino conformado por cuatro tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones, cada parcela experimental midió 4 m de largo y 3
m de ancho, totalizando 16 unidades, cada una con 4
hileras separadas entre si por 0,80 m y 0,10 m entre
plantas. Fueron evaluados: ciclo vegetativo, altura dela
planta, número de ramas por planta, número de cápsulas por planta, peso de 1.000 semillas y el rendimiento.
Los resultados muestran que la variedad Inia presentó el
ciclo vegetativo más largo y la variedad Dorado el más
corto. Las variedades Escoba, Mbarete e Inia son de porte
alto, de tipo gigante con mayor cantidad de ramas por
planta, con 10 ramas las dos primeras y 9 la última. Lavariedad Dorado es de porte bajo, tallo único, de tipo normal, con mayor número de cápsulas por planta y menor
peso de 1.000 semillas. La variedad Inia presentó el mayor peso de 1.000 semillas con 4,9 g. Las variedades
Inia y Dorado tienen alta productividad, con rendimientos
de 1.875 y 1.433 kg/ha respectivamente. La época de
siembra influye en el rendimiento de las variedades Escoba yMbarete, ambas de ciclo largo y la primera con
sensibilidad al fotoperíodo.
