Setting in the short story “ This is It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona”

Geographical is the topographical features of a region, usually of the earth, sometimes of theplanets. Historical is based on or concerned with events in history. Season is one of the four natural divisions of the year, spring, summer, fall, and winter, in the North and South Temperate zones. Dayis the period of light between dawn and nightfall, the interval from sunrise to sunset. Date is the time stated in terms of the day, month, and year. Time is a number, as of years, days, or minutes,representing such an interval. The geographical element is essential to most stories.
This story took place on an Indian reservation in Spokane, Washington; Phoenix, Arizona; and Nevada. Thomas andVictor took a flight from Spokane, Washington to Phoenix, Arizona. Victor's father died in a trailer in Phoenix. When Thomas and Victor were driving back home, they passed through Nevada and they wereamazed at the lack of animals and the absence of water that they saw in that area. If the story had taken place in Florida, Thomas and Victor would had seen more animals and probably they would havekilled a raccoon instead of a jackrabbit. The historical element is important too.
The setting of this story was approximately in the 80s because Thomas and Victor sat besides Cathy in the airplane, agymnast that was first alternate on the 1980 Olympic team. If the story would not have taken place in this period of time, Thomas and Victor would not have traveled as easily as they did because ifthis story would have happened a century ago, they would have been unable to travel because airplanes were not invented yet. The Seasonal element is important too.
This story took place in the summer.Victor's father's body had laid in a trailer for a week in hundred degree temperatures. The two boys had to drive the hot and stinky truck back to Spokane. If this story would not have taken place...
