EQ6 Guidescope setup
Read up on and install EQMOD, it's a great piece of software and it will allow you to pulse guide through the handsetof the EQ6 Pro, and much much more.
You'll need a serial to usb adapter, or serial port on your pc / laptop, this connects to the serialhandset cable that's supplied with the mount and then to the handset.
My set up goes something like this (it's been a while though);
Set upmount and polar align.
Balance with everything attached that you'll be using, cameras etc.
Start PHD on the laptop.
Connect the guide camera tothe laptop.
Connect the serial -> USB adapter to the laptop
Connect the serial cable to the Synscan handset and set handset to PC Direct mode.Start the guidecam communication in PHD
Start the mount communication in PHD - this starts the EQMOD software.
Start your planetariumsoftware - I use Stellarium / Stellarium Scope
Unpark the mount in EQMOD and use the N-star alignment process and your planetarium software to set upthe goto alignment.
Goto target, centre target in DSLR, find guidestar and let PHD do its stuff.
Misc stuff - I think you need to enablepulse guiding in EQMOD the first time you set it up and a wireless gamepad makes alignment much easier.
Once you've used EQMOD a couple of timesyou won't want to go back to using the handset! It's so cool to be able to click on an object in Stellarium and have the mount slew to it.
