Argentina , officially the Argentine Republic is a country in South America, bordered by Chile to the west and south, Bolivia and Paraguay to the north and Brazil and Uruguay to the northeast. 
Thecountry is a federation of 23 provinces and the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, its capital and largest city. It is the eighth-largest country in the world by land area and the largestamong Spanish-speaking nations. Argentina is a founding member of the United Nations, Mercosur, the Union of South American Nations, the Organization of Ibero-American States, the World Bank Group and the WorldTrade Organization.

As of 2011, Argentina is the most visited country in South America and the fourth most visited in the Americas. According to official figures from the World TourismOrganization, in 2010 the country received more than 5,300,000 foreign tourists, which meant about 4,930 million dollars of income from divisas. The most popular tourist sites are found in the historic citycore, comprising Montserrat and San Telmo.
