Shorter Story Ever
Slowly, she begun to turn, soon ago not listening him explain his shameful lot. Shaking her head, she juststarted walking.
“Are you okay?” She didn’t answer. “Wait!” and he started after her.
I couldn’t let him reach me, he was evil. And I couldn’t let him corrupt me. Who would’ve thought someonelike him could be such a coward. She didn’t know till it was too late. I kept on walking. Keep my baby safe.
“Come here you damn woman!” he’s words were low and harsh, cutting through her ears, butshe just kept on what she was doing, getting as far as she could from him.
He grabs my hand roughly and looks at me with a worth pity look. And that was exactly why I’d been all these years in thisliving hell, but because of myself. I used to pity myself, to this day, I would pity no more. I would not be sleeping with some dreams. I would not be going home tonight, or ever. I won’t let himstep on me no more. This was his end, or mine, I really didn’t know or really care. It was all about my baby now. My baby. And a small cackle erupted from within me. And he’s face, oh his face.“What’s wrong with you?”
His face was contortioned into a mixture of doubt, anger and fear. And she had to laugh harder.
He finally felt something else than superiority, egocentrism, or rage. He wasjust another human being. I knew for sure, he knew he wasn’t in control any more. And that couldn’t make me anymore happy than I was now. Still laughing, scaring his bones out, I walked away....
