Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a story that begins when the Green Knight was going to be decapitated by SirGawain. A story classified as a romance, since it contains many characteristics of these types of stories, characteristics such as a hero, supernatural elements, a battle of good versus evil and alsoa quest. The story written by an anonymous author describes exactly each of those characteristics.

As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the story begins with the decapitation of the GreenKnight, in this part we can see the supernatural things since the Knight is decapitated and he still alive, he gets his head and he can walk and speak and it is right there where we can notice that heis not going to die because he says to Gawain that next year he is going to cut his head too. At this point is where the adventure begins, one year later Gawain, the hero of the story, in order todemonstrate his honor has to go and look for the green Knight. He begins his quest, just before Christmas, through mountains and forests and then one day he comes upon a beautiful castle.

After hearrived to the castle is when the battle between good versus evil begins, may be people would think that the Green Knight is a the bad character of the story but it is not at all, he is trying totempted Gawain with the events of the host and his wife, he is testing that hero, the honor, loyalty and all the qualities of Gawain. But at the end Gawain falls into the temptation and he accepted thesash, which could make him look like a fake hero. After those days in the castle, Gawain finds the Green Knight, and when Gawain is about to being beheaded, inside his head he began a complete battle. Abattle of the good, his honor, his reputation as a hero against the evil, his fears, he doesn’t want to be decapitated because when the Knight cut his head off he won’t be able to still alive. He...
