Global warming as a natural process

Since I can remember I’ve heard numerous people advertising and spreading the word about global warming: it is going to destroy nature along with the life in this planet, that the greenhouse effect is making the planet hotter and hotter every minute, and that the repercussions of thehuman industrial revolution will melt both poles, thus flooding the earth.

But I realized, and I’m going to make you realize as well, that global warming is in fact a natural phenomenon, just like an earthquake, the eruption of a volcano or simply rain. Nevertheless, this is a big phenomenon; this is a worldwide issue that will be extremely difficult to adapt to and overcome.

Oneof the reasons I want to properly demonstrate my thesis is to shed light on the power of the media and how it is sometimes used to keep people frighten of a grater power, this grater power being global warming and its consequences. I also want to prove that global warming is a cyclical process and that throughout the earth’s history countless radical and dramatic climate changes have happed,helping nature to balance all processes occurring in every ecosystem.

This change in the climate is, once again, a cyclical phenomenon; changes like this will take place in our planet until the end of its days. Global warming is not a desirable event for us, however I want to be sure that we, human beings, are insignificant to the whole system, and to the relationship between humans andnature is not causing global warming.

This waterfall of information overwhelm my mind with even more questions that I’ll try to answer with actual facts affecting the global warming process, but in the mean time my own opinion and thoughts will be reflected in this essay. To begin with, how did I come to realize this whole charade about global warming? What made me take off this veil from myeyes? Are we really experiencing climate changes? Is the human race really doomed to extinction? Numerous questions regarding history in global climate flood my head in search of the truth.

Throughout history, how many times has the earth’s climate changed dramatically? Why is the climate changing towards hotter temperatures instead of colder ones? Does the greenhouse effect really affect ourplanet’s climate? And if it does, to what extent? On the other hand, something else is bugging me: this constant and overwhelming media propaganda against human factories and economic growth, why are people constantly telling us that we are responsible for changes in the climate and that if we keep this rate of economical and industrial growth, we will destroy the planet?

Why don’t theyspread the true meaning of this change to people and prepare us for the future? What if we, from the beginning of the industrial revolution, had used environmentally-friendly and renewable resources, what would they scare us with then? There are a significant number of doubts that I’ll attempt to clarify in this short essay, but this is just the beginning of a true revolution that is taking place inthis time and that we have to prepared in order to endure its benefits and consequences.

It was merely coincidence that I stumbled upon this topic; in my ecology class I learned the whole process (presented above) of nature and how it sustains itself in order to keep everything how it is, how it manages to recycle waste and how it sustains all the nutrients every organism needs. Inaddition to this, my mother, whose hobby is to keep her garden as neat and clean as it is humanly possible, had to travel and stay away from home for 2 weeks. In this short period of time, my mom’s garden was complete unrecognizable: the plants grew considerably, leaves and organic waste were all over the place and weeds and bugs were all around the garden.
