“-Sexual violence by the operators of thecompany against adult women and underage mestizo and indigenous, spontaneous abortions, discrimination and racism, forced displacement, harmful cultural impact and destruction in all aspects” this was thereport given by a journalist in 2006 when an oil company was establishing near an Amazonian community. Profit has driven international companies to oil drilling in Ecuadorian Amazon, sadly this hasaffected not only the environment killing natural species and plants but also the life of so many tribes who have been forced to emigrate from their homes and their health have been so much affectedincreasing the rate of cancer and respiratory diseases.
Native decided to refuge inside the jungle to escape the oil companies. Ironically, the colonists did not benefit the oil and most of thembarely surviving on what they have on their farms or commerce. Indigenous communities are migrating to the depths of the Amazon jungle leaving behind their homes where they had everything to live and theoil companies are gaining more ground each time. The Hourani cultures have reduced its number of people because families breakdown and run away to less polluted atmospheres because if they stay there,then they will face a dreadful quality of life and their children will die intoxicated.
The destruction that comes with the oil drilling is ending with biodiversity of species in Ecuador. The pinkdolphin do not exists anymore because of the toxic wastes the oil companies throw in the Amazonian rivers; actually there are few specimens of caimans from the hundreds there was before. The virginforest that had the Ecuador has become an oil field. the indiscriminate felling of trees has increased so much that the majority of species of animals have had to adapt to another way of life and...
