* Can make chains or rings.
* 4 affinity units, is tetravalent bond.
Isotopes: carbon-12, carbon-13,carbon-14
Allotropes: graphite and diamonds.
Classification of organic compounds.. they’re boring but you need to know fuckin alkanes alkenes and alkynes.
alkANE: are sp3 Hybridized, mostsaturated hydrocarbons. Single bond C—C, sigma bonds only
AlkENE: are sp2 hybridized, unsaturated hydrocarbons, C=C double bonds, sigma and Pi bonds.
AlkYNE: are sp hybridized unsaturated hydrocarbons, C= C triplo bonds, Sigma+PI+PI bonds.
