Instructions

1. Cold-boot the Symbol Handheld Terminal (note that after cold-boot the device, you need to calibrate the screen)
• For MC90X0 – press and hold the Red Power key for at least 30seconds
• For MC30X0 – press ‘1’, ‘9’ and Red Power keys at the same time
2. Put the Handheld Terminal (HT) on Cradle and my sure it is successfully connected to PC via MS ActiveSync
•refer to following paragraphs for how to connect your Handheld Terminal to the PC using MS ActiveSync
3. Open MS ActiveSync program
4. Use the ‘Explorer’ button to copy the program (e.g.BMSScanner.exe) file from PC to HT under any folder (suggest to put it under ‘\Application\XDock’).
5. To run the program, double clicks the icon in that folder

* How to Warm-boot HT:
• For MC90X0 – pressand hold the Red Power key for at least 7 seconds
• For MC30X0 – press ‘7’, ‘9’ and Red Power keys at the same time

Supplementary (WinCE Handheld Terminal setup for Connection)

1. When youconnect the WinCE Handheld Terminal (HT) cradle to the PC:
• If the connection (Partnership – refer to following paragraph for the setup steps) has been made before, after putting HT on thecradle, ActiveSync will auto detect it from PC
• Otherwise, warm boot the HT
• Click the ‘Start’ button on HT
• Select ‘Settings’
• Select Control Panel
• Double click the “PCConnection” icon
• In the “PC Connection Properties” window, make sure the “Enable direct connections to desktop computer” option is selected
• Click the “Change Connection” button
• If youare using a USB cable to connect the cradle and PC, select ‘usb’ and press ENTER
• If you are using a Serial cable, select ‘Serial’ and ‘COM1’ and press ENTER
• Click ‘OK’ button at topright corner to exit the screen
