Why sports?, You may answer "exercise" and his answer is correct. "For fun? That's true. But there's more. In fact,there are at least five reasons. According to the Women's Sports Foundation, girls who play sports get a lot more than just a good figure. Girls who play sports have a better performance in school. Onemight think that athletics decreases the time appointed for study. However, research shows that girls who play sports do better in school than those who do not. Exercise improves learning, memory andconcentration, giving active girls an advantage in the classroom. Girls who play sports learn teamwork skills and how to set goals. The sport teaches valuable life skills. When you work with coachesand teammates to win games and achieve goals, you're learning how to be successful. These skills will be useful in work and family life. Sports are good for the health of a girl. In addition to beingfit and maintaining a healthy weight, girls who play sports are less likely to smoke. Later in life, girls who exercise are less likely to get breast cancer or osteoporosis. The fact that sportspromotes self-reliance. The girls who play a sport they feel better about themselves. Why? Knowing that you can practice, improve and make goals builds confidence. Exercise reduces blood pressure. Sportcan decrease stress and help you feel happier. How? The brain chemicals released during exercise improve a person's mood. Friends are another factor that enhances the mood of the people. Being part of ateam creates strong bonds between friends. It's good to know that your teammates will help you, both inside and outside the court! |
