Sr. Galahad
The knight Sir Galahad
This history takes us to the time of king Arthur and the knights of the round table,
times of spells and witchcraft, and dragons and knights of honor.
King Arthur had gotten sick, in only two weeks his disease had prostrated him in
his bed and he barely ate. All the doctors of the court were called to cure the king,
but nobody could cure him.The King worsened, and could have died.
In his bedroom was Sir Galahad, the most heroic and handsome of theknights of
the round table, and friend of Arthur.
- Galahad said to the servant: “The King will live, he will recover himself… weonly
need to find the doctor that knows what ails him. Do you understand?”
- The servant answered shaking: “what happened, Sir, is that the king is not sick, but he is haunted”
- “Why do you say that?” Asked Galahad
- “I am very old, my Sir, and I had seen, many men and women in this situation,
and only one survivor.
- That means that there is a possibility… tell me, how did he do it? He that escaped
from death.
- by getting a more powerful sorcerer than the one who performed the spell, if this
is not done, then he will die.
- Galahad said:“There must be a powerful sorcerer in the kingdom”, but if there
isn’t,I’llgo for him to the other side of the ocean and I will bring him.
- “I only know of two people powerful enough to cure the king, Sir Galahad; one is
Merlin, but he will arrive two weeks late, and I believe that our king will not last that
long”.
- W ho is the other person?
- The other is the witch of the mountain… But evenif somebody goes to look for
her, she will never come here to cure the king, because he expelled her from the
palace many years ago.
But Arthur was Galahad’s best friend, and he would save his friend. Galahad put
on his armor, he mounted his horse, and he went to look for the witch.
The sky turned dark at midday.
Galahad arrived to the mountain, and he found the witch mixing a pot.
Thewitch wore black clothes, her arms were long and bony, her nails like claws,
with little eyes, a pointed nose, and a prominent chin.
When Galahad arrived, the witch screamed at him:
- Get out, before I convert you in a toad!
- “But, I have come to look for you, I need help for my friend because he is very
sick”, Galahad said.
- he, he, he.- laughed the witch- “ the king is bewitched, but Iwasn’t the one who
cast the spell, there isn’t anything that you could do to save him.
- But you…. You are more powerfuland you could save him. Galahad said.
- W hy would I do that? Asked the witch.
- For whatever you demand. – Galahad said – I will pay you myself.
The witch looked at the knight, and she said:
- If I cure the king; you shall marry me.
Galahad shook, he couldn’t imagineliving with the witch all his life, however, it was
the life of Arthur, and also the kingdom needed its king.
- This I will do – Galahad said – I give you my word.
In silence, the witch took a suitcase, put some powders and potions in her
suitcase.
They went to the royal castle.
The people murmured, they couldn’t believe, they didn’t cross their looks with the
ugly witch.
Galahad gave her hishand, to help her get off the horse. She was surprised.
Galahad told her: “if you will be my wife, I will treat you as such”.
The king had worsened; he neither woke up nor ate.
The witch went near Arthur, she smelled him, said some words, and then she
prepared a green potion. The personal doctor of the king would like the witch to be
fired.
- “Don’t touch this woman" - Galahad said - "youare who should go out”
The witch put the potion in Arthur’s mouth.
- And then? Galahad asked
- Now wait- said the witch
The next morning, after a lot of days, the king woke up.
-“Food I want to eat, I’m very hungry!”
- Good morning your majesty- said Galahad- My dear friend, I feel extremely hungry, as if I hadn't eaten in weeks.
- You didn't eat in weeks- said Galahad.
