THE STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT

In 1971 a group of three expecilists, Philip Zimbardo, Craig Haney, and Curtis Banks carried out a psychological experiment to answer the following question: Whatcan happen if humans are put into severe loathsome situations? Can the outside force (in this case the prison) affect on your behavior? Or will it be your personal values, such as morality, etics,beliefes, etc; the internal force that guide you in order to cope with a negative, evil situation? The experiment took place in Stanford University, North California a really prestigious university.Zimbardo converted the university's basement into a prison so they can make it realistic. In my particular opinion it is important to analyse human behavior, thus it allows us to understand our society'sissues, so that we can control them, and solve them. Prison behavior has become a significant and huge issue in The United States, as we have a lot of prisons and jails. Therefore we must analise andunderstand how such enviorment does affect inmates doctrines and philosophies, and how does it affect on their readjustment to society. This experiment was an extremely well and realistic event. Inwhich the scientific methods were very well stablished. Sadly despite how sophisticated Dr Zimbardo is, I believe that he shouldn't took both rolles, Prison's director, and experiment manager. Suchmistake caused the experiment be kind of cruel, as a result that only one person takes two inportant charges. We can see how tha leading guard humilliated the inmates, while Zimbardo didn't take care ofhis unjustice that well. As a matter of fact, there is evidence that both, the prison guards, and the prisoners, influenced by such negative enviorment.
To conclude I must say that such experimentmade a significant improvement to the way on how I judge legal procedures used to control Prisons, and prisoners rights. In addition to this I think that the experiment used really good scientific...
