STARBUCKS es una cadena internacional de café. Es la compañía de café más grande del mundo, con aproximadamente 17, 800 locales en 49 países. Starbucks vende café elaborado, bebidas calientes y caféexpress entre otras bebidas, también vende bocadillos y algunos otros productos tales como tazas y granos de café. También ofrece libros, CD de música y películas.
HISTORIA
El primer local fueabierto en Seatle, Washington en 1971 por tres socios: el profesor de ingles Jerry Baldwin, el profesor de historia Zev Siegel, y el escritor Gordon Bowker. Los tres inspirados por el empresario cafeteroAlfred Peet, abrieron su primera tienda de venta de granos y maquinas paea café, ubicada en 2000 Western Avenue.
Howard Schultz es el actual presidente de la Corporación, se incorpora a Starbucks en1982.
Hasta el 2010 Starbucks tuvo 137 000 empleados y $10.71 billones de ingresos.
STARBUCKS EN PERU
El 20 de Agosto del 2003 Starbucks inagura su primera tienda en Perú ubicado en el OvaloGutierrez , la cual también fue la primera tienda en Sudamerica.
El 2008 fue importante porque abrieron en provincia como Trujillo y Chiclayo. El 27 de Enero del 2011 abrieron la tienda numero 32 enArequipa.
