Stendahl Syndrome
The Stendahl Syndrome is a psychological illness that causes physical syndromes when the person who suffers it is looking a beautiful work of art. Itis neccessary to know some important aspects of these syndrome such as origin, category, causes and the main point of incidence. First of all is relevant to know the originof the word. The name of the symdrome is due to a famous autor called Sthendahl. This autor faced akward feelings while he was looking art in Italy. However, it was thepsychology Graziella Magherini who discover this syndrome in 1970’s. Another name for this strange syndrome is hyperkulturemia. The second aspect is the category, this syndromefits in the psychosomatic illnesses category. This means that the mind and thoughs affects the body and become and illness. For instance, the symptomps prove this fact. Themost common symtomps of this psychosomatic illness are dizziness, rapid heart beat rate, hallutinations and even fainting. Third, it is important to know why this syndrome iscaused. Some psychologist think that this syndrome can be a result of the saturation of the human reception capacity. One important point is that the syndromes can also bemanifastated when a person is looking something extremely beautiful. Therefore, if the person who suffers from Sthendahl syndrome observes anything beautiful the effects willshow themselves. For instance, a beautiful big city , a gothic cathedral or a antique cathedral can work as a trigger. Finally, the incidense of the symdrom. An interestingfact is that Florence, Italy is the place in which more cases are detected because this city has a lot of art pieces. However, most of the turists do not developt any symptomp.
