The film tells the story of a simple man throughout his life, knowing historically significant figures and witnessing big events, but always without realizing what is happening around him. Sitting at the bus stop, wearing a suit, Forrest Gump tells the story of his life to a woman who is sitting next to him (this person regularly changes along the film). Itis a lovely story that will capture your whole attention.
Much of Forrest's philosophy comes from his mother. Forrest often recalls his favorite phrase, saying "Mama always said, 'Life is like a box of chocolate'" and "stupid is who do stupid things." So, his mother finds the way to sign her son in the regular school, she had sex with the director. On his first day of school, he meet in the school bus to Jenny, who, later Forrestwould know then, is sexually abused by her stepfather. In his early life, Forrest had his back curved, and he used in the legs a device to stand upright and walk. These brackets did walk awkwardly. He lived alone with his mother, but always had guests in his house, on one occasion Forrest's mother finds him dancing with a boy playing the guitar, his mother tells Forrest as not disturb the youngtraveler, he told her that do not mind and asks Forrest to continue dancing, as Forrest could not dance very well because of the metal device in his legs, but his dance was very unique and this young man, later known as The King takes that dancing becoming in one of the most known singers -the famous Elvis Presley-.
Years later, while he was escaping from a mad man, Forrest runs across of afootball field of Greensbow High School during practice and was observed by the coach of the University of Alabama. A scholarship allows Forrest to enter college. His ability as a runner and his speed gives the team great success led by the legendary Paul Bryant. On the day of his graduation, he was approached by a sergeant and army recruits. Gump says he fits in the army "as a pin" and is number onein his troops. After assembling his M14 rifle in record time, his troop sergeant says, "I would recommend to you for Soldier Official Gump, if it was a waste of time to have a man so capable!" His only friend is Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue, who knows all about the business of shrimp. Bubba and Forrest agree partnership to venture into the "business of shrimp" once they leave the military. WhileForrest and Bubba discover they have lives, philosophies of life, and similar mothers (Bubba: "My mom says that too.")

When you receive the medal, President Lyndon Johnson asked where he wasshot; Forrest responds "I got shot in the ass, sir." Johnson joked about seeing the wound; to which Gump lower his pants to show the wound to the president. During this rescue, Lt. Dan loses his legs, and Bubba is fatally wounded and dies in the arms of Forrest. While Forrest is recovering from his wound, he becomes an expert tennis player and travels to the Republic of China during the period knownas the Period diplomat Ping Pong.
