This story is about the freedom of Scotland. As Scotland had no king, Edward Longshaks the king of England wanted to rule Scotland but the Scots didn’t want, so they were going to war.In Scotland there lived a man called Malcolm Wallace, who had two sons, John, who was 18 and William who was 7. Their mother died when William was born. One day John and Malcolm went to MacAndrews'sfarm and they saw all the people dead. Then came William who had followed them and he was surprised. Then Malcolm and John together with other men as Old Campbell went to fight against the English andwhen they returned William found his brother and his father died. William said goodbye to his friend Hamish and before going to his uncle Argyle, a girl gave him a purple flower, the flower ofScotland.
Years later William returns to his village with the objective of start a family and that day there was a wedding . In a moment the British carried the bride by the old rule of "first night" whichmeans that the bride was to spend his wedding night with a noble of the land and not with her husband. For her father and her husband weren’t killed she agreed. Then William met Murron, the girl whohad given the flower, was now a woman. They went together to the forest and decided to marry in secret so that Murron not have to comply with rule of first night. The next day a soldier caught Murronand threw her to the ground. Suddenly William was there and he caught the soldier’s arm from behind. He watched Murron escape but she didn´t escape. And then she was dead. William looked for everywhereand then he found Murron dead and decides to kill all the English. In London Nicoette, Isabella's friend, told her the whole story of William and Murron and Isabella like William. Next William fightagainst the British and as they had a good plan of attack all the English were killed. William was famous all over scotland and he was taken York.
