TheOrigins of Surf
This sport began in the Western Polynesia about 3000 years ago, When the Europeans arrived to Hawaii, Tiji and Tahiti, and they saw how the Hawaiian fisher men slide themselves intheir canoe just for the fun, so they went to their countries to spread this news. Hawaiian fish men didn’t realize that riding waves on a board was going to become a famous sport; they did it becausethey thought that it was an easy and fast method to get to the shore with their fish. With the time, riding waves on a board became a diary routine for the pacific islands. After a few hundred years ofriding the waves of Hawaii, a new sport was form.
For Hawaiians Surfing was not just a sport; it was a culture and lifestyle. Hawaiians create a language, their own prayers, boards; they evenselect a few beaches were only talented people could surf.
