History Starbucks Coffee Company was founded in 1971, in Seattle, Washington, by three friends who were studying at the University of San Francisco, in the years 60, and that during his travels inEurope were inspired by the quality and the art of coffee making. The first store, founded in Pike Place Market, sold of roasted coffee beans and spices of high quality. The concept was to share theexperience of the best coffee with customers and attract them by the European style and the aroma of the shop.
Today, Starbucks Coffee Company has over 16,000 stores in 44 countries, through independentsubsidiaries, joint-venture partnerships or franchises.
