Summary
Unthreading thesenses/the Penelope games: a review of the imaginary concept and its social implications. Pedro Antonio Agudelo Rendón. This paper presents a conceptualization of the social imaginary, delimiting some of itsfeatures and defining some categories that make it a central concept when thinking about processes of education and social transformation in countries like Colombia. The concept is first viewed forma historical and epistemological perspective under the thoughts of Cornelius-Castoriadis. Based on this, it is argued that the imaginary does not refer purely to the structural, to representationsentrenched in society; but, rather, it is a creative ability, related to the imagination, which reveals the creative power of the human being. Because, an imaginary is real and complex set of images (ofwhat we are and want) that appear to cause different senses, senses that happen, senses that create and open world.
