Have you ever wanted something so hard and then someone comes and ruins your dreams and hopes on it? I have never been so ashamed in my whole life, not even one of themillions of times those mean girls at school have bullied me by telling me all those horrible nicknames. I was trying to blink my tears away and stop crying but I couldn't handle the pain the words ofEugene's mother caused me. I was wishing so hard to run, as fast as my body let me, to my house, but I didn't wanted to go there and find my mother saying "I told you so". I thought it would be betterto just sat on the sidewalk waiting for a miracle to happen. El Building looked different than it normally does, it was more quiet, it was still a little loud but in a negative way "Or maybe I'm justhallucinating because of the pain." I thought. But I was wrong, it was not a hallucination and deep in my heart I knew what it was, maybe I was just so blinded at that moment to realize it. MrKennedy was dead.

Suddenly I felt something on my shoulder that waked me from my thoughts. Eugene was standing behind me with, which I thought, was an apologetical smile on his face.

"Elena, I'm gladto see you here. May I sit?" he asked shyly.

"Sure, why not?" I shrugged.

"I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier..." he cleared his throat before continuing "I am sorry about mymom being rude with you."

"How do you kno-" my eyes widened.

"I overheard the conversation." he explained. "I'm sure she didn't meant it, she can be a little... overprotective sometimes. I don'twant to stop being friends with you just because she says so. I bet she is only upset because what happened with the president. I have tried to comfort her, but it really affected her."

A smileformed on my lips and then vanished when I thought about my own mother, who should be devastated too. "Thank you for the apology Eugene." I said.

"No problem." He smiled and stood up. "So, do you...
