Biomedical Engineering is a program completely interdisciplinary, where Biomedical Engineers are members of teams for service delivery in healthcare, seeking new solutions to increasingly complex problems in that area. In this process, biomedical engineers have become active in the design, development and use of materials,devices and equipment (such as ultrasound, pacemakers, stents, artificial leather, etc...)
The importance of this topic in our country is that biomedical engineering has now become one of thebiggest races in the area of ​​health where through technology and knowledge engineers have created different designs equipment, sensors, tools, interfaces and systems thatenhance medical care in the hospital and home, this engineering combines engineering expertise with medical needs to obtain benefits in health care.
The new studies and contributions implemented toHealth and Technological Innovations related to medical care, require engineering professionals involved and participate directly in development activities related to engineering design,management and management of new biomedical technologies, to their application in different areas involved with the Health Sector. As a result, there arises the Biomedical Engineering as ameans of integration between these two dynamic professions.
Biomedical engineering is a specialization that requires consolidation pioneer and market penetration. Shapeengineering professionals with expertise on all electronics, mechanics and medicine. While emerging as a profession with a future is yet to conquer its market and is facing a potential labor demand limited.
