Ronald: The Word tatoo originates from Polynesia where, on islands like Tahiti and Samoa, the tribal tatootraditionally played a significant role in the organization and interaction of the people.
Kevin: Today tattooing is a common practice in many parts of the world. For some people, a tatoo is simply aform of body decoration, for others it provides a symbol of cultural or group identity.
Million of people, including 30 million in the U.S alone, have some form of tattoo on their body.
JP:However,tattoing may also have a negative image, in Japan, for example, a common perception of people with tattoos is that they are associated with Japanese Mafia, or “yakuza”.
Calde:Troughtout the world,in fact, tattooist are often referred to as tatoo artists, and many studio employers insist that these artists have some kind of background or training in art before hiring them.

Ronald:The stereotypical image of the tattoo parlor as a dingy backstreet shop is far from the reality. A modern tatoo studio today is more likely to look likedentist's office, with waiting room walls adorned with artwork.
Kevin:The National Tattoo Association in the USA has over thousand members and promotes the image of tattooing as a profession with highquiality standards. So The image of tattooist as a rebel is gradually changing.
