Introduction.
Because of the strong earthquakes that have lived not only in Mexico but in other parts of the world, that is why we left here is a manual for what to do in an emergency earthquake, we will give you tips on what to do before, during and after the incident.
This manual will be very helpful because the drills are necessary not only in our work or school but also in our ownhome, because we never know when is the exact day, time, or the time to be surprised how a phenomenon this.
The Ministry of Education and the National Civil Protection System have been considered essential to create awareness to the existence of conditions that cause the occurrence of disasters, so have promoted inter-actions that allow the design and implementation of a tool that promotestolerance, concepts, attitudes and knowledge to avoid the risks and mitigate their effects in case of an adverse event occur.
This Manual first part presents the conceptual approach to disaster risk management, with analysis of each of its factors: vulnerability, threat, risk and disaster then give scope of the study and planning of risk management disaster, as well as risk reduction actions,management and post-disaster recovery. The second part presents extensively the causes, characteristics and prevention of different adverse events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, among other common in the region.
In the third part presents useful elements for risk assessment in school through the development of risk maps and resources and their corresponding schoolorganization to reduce risk or respond to potential emergencies.
In the fourth part, the Handbook presents learning activities proposed to be implemented in schools, with reference to the issues raised in the document.
Finally, a brief glossary of terms used in the Manual and the literature for processing.
In addition, this material is presented as an important reference for the initial approach todisaster risk reduction in the education sector. Is expected to subsequently develop a guide to flesh out specific methodologies applied to the education sector to implement school drills, to develop strategies to revive the educational service after emergencies, to implement campaigns from school to the community, including educational activities
