Teaching Methods
Like any good teacher knows, not all students learn in the same way. It is also common for a class of students to be in a variety of levels in any particular subject. Teachers needto use different teaching methods to reach all students effectively. A variety of teaching strategies, knowledge levels of students, and implementation strategies are best for particular students canhelp teachers to know what teaching methods will be more effective in its class.
The first step in choosing a teaching method is to evaluate students. This assessment can be formal or informal.Formal assessments include standardized tests, tests of the textbook or curriculum used, or teacher to create tests. These assessments can provide insight into the educational background students havereceived, and their academic level. The students in your class may have undergone various teaching methods and the quality of education in previous years.
Informal instruction is, as its name suggests,much less formal. Good teachers know their students. If you have been teaching a group of pupils for some time, you probably already know enough about your interests, skill levels and learningstyles. If the student group is new to you, you can make a point to ask them, individually or in groups, their interests and academic strengths. Depending on the age of children, may also be able to writeabout this, or respond to any questionnaire about their hobbies, interests, previous instruction, the strengths and weaknesses. Students generally like to talk about themselves and their teacher knowwell, it makes them feel special, and the address to choose their teaching methods.
