Section 1: Subjects and Pronouns
English uses seven different pronouns (pronombres) to indicate the subject (sujeto) of a sentence: I you he she it we they yo tú, usted, ustedes él ella nosotros ellos, ellas
Please remember: In English, use the word you for both one (1) person and more than one (1) person. Also use the word you in both formal andinformal situations. Use the word it when you are talking about a thing, for example a table or a building. Use he and she only when you are talking about people (or, sometimes, animals). Use the word they for both people and things. Practice changing the subject of these sentences into a pronoun: Example: Cecilia is my friend. She is my friend. Possessive pronouns (pronombres posesivos) indicate possession: I you he she it we they my your his her its our their mi, mis tu, tus, su, sus su, sus su, sus nuestro, nuestra su, sus
Please remember : Possessive pronouns are the same for both singular (one) and plural (morethan one) objects. Example: I am wearing my favorite sweater. I am wearing my favorite earrings.
