Presentation
The Joint Iberomerican Conference on Technologies for Learning - CcITA2014 has been held for six
consecutive years, this time it willtake place at Humboldt International University in Miami, Florida.
The research group network Kaambal that promotes these events originated in Mexico in 2006, and has
evolved to become the International Community for the advancement of the Technology for Learning –
CIATA.
Besides continuing with these events, CIATA plans to consolidate itself as a non-profit organization and
work for the issuing of ascientific magazine specialized in two aspects: one is to promote the informatics
innovations for learning (INFORMA-TIC), and the other to encourage the applications of technology to
teaching and learning.
In 2014, CcITA has introduced two new considerations:
On the one hand, to access, spread, and promote its activities in the important Spanish and Portuguese
speaking academic communities in theUnited States by holding this conference outside Mexico or Spain;
something that has allowed the participation of researchers and professors from other countries, 17 in total in
this case.
On the other hand, we have staked our future in a new university that is geared towards online education,
and targets Spanish speakers in Latin America and the United States.
Humboldt International University’ssupport has been key for the success of the CcITA 2014; therefore, we
extend our thanks to the university’s Director, Ms. Teresa de Leon, and the Academic Dean, Dr. Javier Garcia
as well as to its faculty and staff. We also extend or gratitude to sponsors of this conference.
Since public subsidies were not available to us this time, the conference has been basically financed by
presenters andtheir institutions.
Ours is an academic event with the specific purpose of promoting the work of professors who use teaching
technologies, as well as of encouraging the development of new applications and methods in the use
technology for learning. Preparing this event has taken us twelve months and much hard work. At the end of
this conference we will be able to let everybody know where the next onewill take place.
We have received a total of 140 presentation proposals, out of which 122 are actually being presented;
therefore, 13 % of the original proposed papers did not make it to the conference.
The following is the breakdown of the presentations accepted by Track:

There are also 7 Posters on different topics.
All the presentations are published every year in the conference proceedings book. This year this has also
