Technology is a BIG word
Technology is a big word around the world because it has so manyassociations added to it. There are computers, video cameras, cell phones and much more. Technology is present even on a pen, the mechanism that makes the ink come out was made by some of manyadvancements in technology. But so many advancements have made normal social communication harder because its easier to send a text message from a cell phone than to meet someone and say what you have to say.If I want to change my look its easier to change my profile picture than to get a haircut or a makeover. Technology is changing social communication everywhere around the world.
A big name insidetechnology is the Internet and Facebook. . Social networks on the internet also affect communication greatly. “The last study of internet consumption made by Technical Studies and the entity ‘BrandScience’ revealed that 1.5 million people in Puerto Rico have access to Internet and inside this number, 1.3 million have an active profile on social networks and spend most of the time during the weekinside them” (B. Velazquez, page 6). With this information it shows that about an eighty percent of internet users use social networks. This affects mostly on teenagers and it is seen simply by loggingin to Facebook and the first sight will surely be a post from a teenager saying something about his life. There was an article written in ‘El Nuevo Día’ and it is a clear example of this, and itstopic is Doralis Gonzáles, a college student that has addiction to Facebook and spends endless hours signed in using it as a method of linking herself to life. This not only happens with her, but it is areal concern since there are other people who show signs of this addiction.
