Abstract

The purpose of this work is not only to build a strategy for the internet broadband market in Algeria that would lead to the creation of our own ISP1, butalso to study whether launching a start up is sustainable. The project will focus on politics in Algeria (regarding internet), the strategy, and the business plan.

InJanuary 2011, the Algerian “Autorité de Régulation de la Poste et des Télécommunications” (ARPT) has withdrew the licenses of 34 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) which hadfailed to pay their annual license fees. Other ISPs should follow. Hence, the decrease of rivalry in this industry can be a good opportunity to create a new ISP inAlgeria.
The aim of this document is to analyze whether launching a new ISP start up in Algeria is sustainable using all the frameworks learnt during the MBA program.
