The first automobile suitable for use was built in 187, and it was a steam powered vehicle. Since that time the automobilist industryhas evolved at an incredible rate. The automobile industry was changing everything on the cars, from engine to minuscule thing like a light bulb. Everything on the cars has change for good likesecurity systems. Every new year the automobiles have more and more technology, and in these later years the cars are smarter than ever, but accidents keep happening. They even happened with morefrequency than before. Although technology is beneficial for people because of its improper use causes more injuries than before.
The main cause of fatalities while driving in United States is caused bydistracted drivers according to the article “Professional Safety” by Horrey, Lesch, and Melton. However this happens because the cars are loaded with in-vehicle devices. According to Data onpolice-reported crashes suggest that driver distraction is a factor in 25% to 5O% of traffic crashes (NHTSA, 1997), and recent on-road studies suggest that this percentage could be even higher (Klauer, Neale,Dingus, et al, 2005). The amount of research devoted to driver distraction is extensive, particularly regarding cell phone use. In general, studies have shown that distracted drivers have slowedresponses to critical traffic events and are more likely to miss Important events such as a changing traffic light according to Horrey, Lesch, and Melton.
Although, this report looks scary people oftendo not pay attention to these kind of report. However it is more important to ask, if the automobile industry is doing something to prevent more accidents, or they are just more focus in makingsmartest for the single purpose of selling.
