Simple Present Tense:
a) Formulas:
- Affirmative: I – You – We – They + verb infinitive + complement
He – She – It + verb infinitive + s, es, ies + complement
- Negative: I – You - We –They + don’t + verb infinitive + complement
He – She – It + doesn’t + verb infinitive + complement
- Interrogative: Do + I – You – We – They + verb infinitive + complement?
Does + He – She – It +verb infinitive + complement?
- QWQ: QWQ + Do + I – You – We – They + verb infinitive + complement?
QWQ + Does + He – She – It + verb infinitive + complement?
Who + Verb infinitive + s, es, ies +complement?
b) Usage: It expresses actions or situations that are habitual repeated or true all the time, instructions and actions in the present- one follows after the other.
c) Timeexpressions: Every day, often, always, sometimes, never, etc.
d) Examples from each tense:
- Affirmative: I always read my favorite book.
- Negative: He doesn’t like computers at all.
- Interrogative: Dowe have Italian classes?
- QWQ: How does John return home?

Simple Past Tense:
a) Formulas:
- Affirmative: Subject + verb in past tense (regular or irregular) +complement
- Negative: Subject + didn’t or did not + verb infinitive + complement
- Interrogative: Did + subject + verb infinitive + complement?
- QWQ: QWQ + did + subject + verb infinitive +complement?
Who + Verb in past + complement?
b) Usage: Events that happened at a definite past time or are clearly finished and a sequence of completed past event.
c) Time expressions: Last week, lastyear, a month ago, last night, yesterday, yesterday morning, yesterday evening, yesterday afternoon, etc.
d) Examples from each tense:
- Affirmative: I played football.
- Negative: He didn’tlove her.
- Interrogative: Did you buy that hat?
- QWQ: When did you go last Sunday?
