Born into aCatholic family of Albanian, the deep religiosity of his mother awoke in her missionary vocation of twelve. While still a child, entered the Marian Congregation of the Daughters ofMary, which began operating assistance to the needy
At eighteen forever left his hometown and traveled to Dublin to profess into the Congregation of Our Lady of Loreto. As Iwanted to be a missionary in India, sailed to Bengal, where he studied teaching and chose the name Teresa to profess. He worked as a teacher at St. Mary's High School inCalcutta until 1948, when it was authorized to engage in Rome apostolate for the poor.

In 1950 Mother Teresa founded the Congregation of the Missionaries of Charity, which wasapproved in 1965 by Paul VI. The members of this congregation, to be added to the traditional vows of dedication to the "poorest of the poor", achieved rapid deployment inIndia and other nearly one hundred countries in the world, for its part, the founder mobilized against abortion and euthanasia, in line with the papal doctrine of John Paul II.In 1972 Mother Teresa was awarded the Kennedy Foundation, and in 1979, the Nobel Peace Prize, whose prize money donated to the poor. In 1986 he was visited by John Paul IIin Nirmal Hidray or House of the Pure Heart, which she founded in Calcutta and best known as the House of the Dying. After overcoming numerous ill healths, died on September 5,1997 of a heart attack victim. Thousands of people from around the world gathered in India to dismiss the Saint of the Sewers. She was beatified in 2003 by Pope John Paul II.
